Lana decides, from a statement made by Simon, to fight the virus from inside Kevin's body. Dr. Light gives Lana a map of Kevin's body and a videocom to contact him. Kid Icarus uses his special shrinking arrow to make Lana, Simon, Mega Man, and himself small enough. They enter Kevin's body through his right ear, but miss the shortest route to his heart, which is where Viroid has established his stronghold. They end up in the stomach, and Simon lands in Kevin's gum! Meanwhile, Viroid has sent stomach acid into Kevin's stomach, so Lana and the others will be digested. Mega Man chews some of Kevin's gum and blows it big enough to lift them out of the stomach. Lana drops the videocom, however. Viroid, upset, has the Fat Cells attack. Meanwhile, Dr. Light receives a call from King Melvis of Faxanadu (see "The Feud of Faxanadu"). There is a magic elixir that is said to cure all evil. It was stolen long ago by the dwarves. Duke and Game Boy go to Faxanadu to find it. Lana and the others give the Fat Cells a workout, and they run out of fat and leave. Viroid has the Germ Squad released. Then, the N-Team returns. Lana rescues Kevin's life force, and the rest of them defeat the Germ Squad. Viroid fires at Lana, but she deflects the blast with Simon's mirror. Viroid is destroyed, but the effects of the shrinking arrow begin to wear off, so the N-Team is forced to leave Kevin's body. Kevin assures them that they'll always be his VideoLand family. Meanwhile, Game Boy and Duke find the elixir and bring it back to the Palace. Kevin sneezed the N-Team out of his body, and they grow back to full size. Dr. Light hooks up the elixir to Game Boy and Kevin. They need to input Kevin's Magic Mantra in order to use the elixir, but no one knows it because they never had to use it before. Lana thinks she knows it and types in the word FAMILY. Kevin's life force is restored to full, and he wakes up. Everyone cheers. Kevin had no idea what's going on and thinks he had a weird dream. Then he sneezes out one of the feathers from Simon's fur coat and says: "At least, I think it was a dream!"

27. When Mother Brain Rules

First aired: 1/5/1991

A retrospective look on the time since Kevin Keene arrived in Videoland. Oddly, there were two versions...one with voices...and one (the first shown version) without. The entire tone of the episode makes it one of the most confusing episodes as it doesn't seem entirely restrospective in how it's done...thus making many wonder...with as many battles as we've won, did we lose the war?

Larry, Kevin, Lana, Hoopless, and Duke climb Hoop Mountain, passing a series of challenges by Clockman, Guardian of the Magic Hoop, along the way. Lana wins a wish. However, instead of wishing her father back home, she wishes Rebound back to normal, and everybody's happy.

30. Return to Castlevania

First aired: 9/28/1991

Kevin and Simon go to CastleVania to attend The Simon Belmont Awards, where Simon is going to be honored for being a hero like his great-grandfather, Trevor Belmont. The Poltergeist King appears on stage, where Simon expects to be presented with the weapons his ancestor made famous. Instead, the King calls Trevor a coward, and accuses him of stealing the credit after the King defeated Dracula. He curses the Belmont family with a thousand years of shame. He then disappears, taking the weapons with him. The audience begins booing Simon and throwing food at him. Simon escapes by running into a warp. It turns out that the Count was impersonating the King. With Simon no longer considered a hero, the Count could easily take over CastleVania. Igor, a small winged creature sitting on top of the King's staff, warns the Count that the real Poltergeist King was escaping from the tower when he was being held captive. He was climbing down a bedsheet. The Count flies up and uses the King's magic staff to set the "rope" on fire. The King climbs back up to the window he came out of. Alucard, Dracula's son, comes by on his bat-shaped skateboard to show his dad a new trick. Dracula is mad at Alucard, because he was supposed to be watching the King. He tells his son to get out of his castle. After looking for Simon in every dungeon in town, Kevin finds Simon in the graveyard on the other side of CastleVania. Simon was at Trevor's grave. It's the only place he dared show his face. He sits on another grave and awakens an old wizard from his sleep, who at first mistakens Simon for Trevor. He says a braver man never lived, and that he helped Trevor defeat Dracula 100 years ago. Kevin says they have to find the Poltergeist King and hear the whole story. The old wizard accidentally casts the wrong spell and brings a Skull Knight to life! Simon is too upset to notice it, however. Kevin zaps it, and one of the horns bonks the wizard on the head, causing him to remember a spell. He freezes the Skull Knight, which crumbles. Simon then turns around to see what's going on. Dracula is watching all of this using a ring. When Simon, Kevin, and the old wizard warp into the Poltergeist King's cave, the "King" is outraged at Simon's presence. Kevin fires at a spike, and water comes gushing out. Dracula then turns back into his true form. He sends spikes down from the ceiling, his "Belmont Bashers", to crush them, and then leaves. The old wizard again chants the wrong spell, warping himself out of there. Then Alucard comes by, destroys the spikes, introduces himself, and insists that he's on their side. Dracula is hiding, hearing all of this, and can't believe his own son's a traitor. When Simon, Alucard, and Kevin warp into Drac's room, Dracula warps there as well. During the battle, Alucard helps his dad. Simon knocks the magic staff out of Dracula's hand. Dracula goes to get it, while Alucard holds Kevin and Simon off. Simon swings towards Dracula using his whip and knocks him away before he can get the staff. Kevin takes care of Alucard. Later, at The Simon Belmont Awards, the audience is falling asleep (the Poltergeist King is already asleep) from Simon's long, boring speech as he accepts Trevor's weapons.

First aired: 10/26/1991

Lana, Kevin, Mega Man, and Kid Icarus go to the medieval world of Final Fantasy to have lunch with the Prince (who is a good friend of Lana's). Kevin would rather see some game action instead. A couple of armored bandits rob a man's magic shop. The N Team members meet Matoya the witch and her talking broom. The evil Astos discovers Captain N is visiting the Prince. At the Prince's castle, Kevin is bored of hearing the Prince talk of all his adventures. Astos comes to Kevin when he's alone and offers to help him gain popularity. He places Kevin under a spell and has him give the Prince a sleeping potion. Kevin and Astos then warp away to Astos' castle. Lana, Mega Man, and Kid Icarus go to a shopkeeper and get passage through a witch's warp. They fall into quicksand, but climb out using Kid Icarus' rope arrow. They meet Matoya again, who turns Lana into stone. She turns Lana back to normal, however, when she realizes who she is. Matoya says the light crystal can break the spell on Kevin, but Astos had stolen it from her years ago. Lana, Mega Man, and Kid Icarus go back to the Prince's castle, where Lana takes a magic key he finds on him. Then they go to Astos' castle, where Kevin is training Astos' warriors. Kid Icarus and Mega Man dress up in a suit of armor and distract Astos while Lana sneaks into the castle. Astos takes Mega Man and Kid Icarus to the room containing the light crystal and assigns them to guard it. Their identity is revealed. After a short battle, Lana winds up with the light crystal. She breaks the spell on Kevin and reveals Astos' and his guards' true identity. Kevin doesn't remember what happened, but waits until later for the explanation as he, Lana, Mega Man, and Kid Icarus escape from Astos' castle. The other three N Team members tell Kevin everything that happened. Back at the Prince's castle, Matoya creates a potion to wake the Prince up, and he's unaware that any time has passed. Kevin says he's learned his lesson and is happy being who he is.
