Cabinet Information

The entirely metal cabinet is painted red and has metal serial number plates, even for the transformer. It is about twice as deep as standard cabinets and a little taller. The sides contain white graphics of planes. It is a beautiful piece of machinery from Nintendo.

Game Introduction

This game is quite amazing, not for the gameplay, but for its 16mm film projector. The film is running on several rollers and is a big loop. The film consists of two halves. The upper portion with the gameplay (planes) is thrown via a mirror on the screen. The lower portion has black and white target areas. This area is being projected via another mirror on a phototrans. The machine gun has a lamp inside the cab aiming through the targets. Simple but efficient.

Technical

The small PCB handles coins and the targeting. There are four relays which handle input and output. Otherwise the game is purely mechanical.
